Adobe announces AI-powered ‘Sky Replacement’ feature for the next version of Photoshop

Adobe announces a new feature — ‘Sky Replacement’ for the next version of Photoshop that will allow you to replace the sky in your photos with ease.

With the ‘Sky Replacement’ feature, you will be able to easily replace the sky in your photos. Besides, Photoshop brings a whole range of expressive sky images. But you will also be able to store your own sky photos and apply them to any images if necessary. The feature is very easy to use. You select one of the offered skies and then use drag-and-drop to adjust its size and position.

Adobe places the’ Sky Replacement’ feature option very prominently. It is available on the first level of the navigation menu “Edit” and opens up several tabs with setting options after a click.

Also, it becomes clear that the new Photoshop function has nothing to do with the instant sky swap apps that you know from iOS or Android. Rather, ‘Sky Replacement’ uses Adobe’s in-house AI Sensei. The feature uses basic Photoshop assets such as masks and layers.

Adobe has announced that it will present further details on this and many other new features at Adobe MAX—The Creativity Conference, October 20–22, 2020.
