Does your favourite app eat your data, slow your smartphone or drain your battery? Then why don’t you try some lite Android apps for tasks like social networking, managing emails, browsing, etc…
Most of the popular Android apps like Facebook, Messenger, Gmail, Chrome, etc eat a lot of our data along with the battery, but we can solve this problem to some extent.
Yes, as I already told using lightweight versions of apps on your Android smartphone can save your data and battery. Also, these apps are perfect for smartphones with low RAM.
In short, the lite version of Android apps best suits those whose :
- the device is being laggy and freezing all the time
- phone always running out of space and can’t take photos or install new apps
- device battery drains quicker than ever
- internet connection speed is slow or has a limited mobile data pack.
However, along with Android 8.1, Oreo Google released a new lightweight version of the Android operating system — Android Go, especially for devices with 512MB to 1GB of RAM. To provide a fluid smartphone experience to every user Google also added a set of “Go version” of Google apps — a lite version of Google apps — including Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Chrome, and the new Files Go. And interestingly some of these Go edition lite apps also work with other older versions of Android too. Enough gibber gabber, here are some of the best lightweight Android apps that are going to help you :

Some suggestion. Google Maps Go require Chrome, but Chrome is not friendly with low storage and memory. It’s just bit heavier than native Google Maps. It should removed from list.
Thank you for your suggestion, we will look into it
Bro great list! I recently discovered an app named Droid Insight 360. It’s extremely light weight at 4 mb and has five apps built in one. Check it out, the devs have really done a great job on this app.
Great list! It’s amazing how much data and battery we can save with these lite apps. I particularly loved discovering the alternatives to my regular apps that didn’t compromise on functionality. Thanks for keeping us updated!
