The Biden Administration Maintains Trump’s Veto On Huawei And Chinese Companies

Although it was believed that the change of administration in the United States would mean a modification of commercial relations with Chinese companies such as Huawei, the truth is that it will not be the case. At least for now.

The veto of Trump to some of these large corporations will remain with the Biden administration. This has been confirmed by Gina Raimondo, the current Secretary of Commerce, who sees no reason to lift the restrictions.

In this way, Chinese companies on the blacklist, such as Huawei, DJI will remain for the time being. This means that the Chinese manufacturer will continue to be unable to use the services of North American companies. In other words, Huawei will continue to be banned from using Google Play and other services on its terminals.

The Secretary of Commerce points out that it is reasonable for these companies to continue on the blacklist as long as they are considered a risk to national security or to the interests of the foreign policy of the United States.
