Tired of confirming that you are not a robot? Don’t worry; when updating your iPhone to iOS 16, Apple will include a new feature on your device that will allow you to bypass CAPTCHA implemented on some websites.
CAPTCHAs are sequences of letters, numbers or images that are alienated in such a way that, ideally only real people can decipher them. And Apple’s Private Access Tokens is “a powerful alternative that help you identify HTTP requests from legitimate devices and people without compromising their identity or personal information.”
According to Apple, iOS 16 will completely bypass such CAPTCHA prompts for apps that accept Private Access Tokens. No personal information such as the e-mail address or telephone number should be passed on, and the IP address should not be determined either. Automatic bypassing of CAPTCHAs can be enabled in iOS 16 security settings.
The feature has been added to Apple ID > Password & Security > Automatic Verification. According to Apple, the system will automatically check the device and Apple ID account in the background, which will confirm that a user is a person and not a software bot. In the early beta versions of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, automatic verification is enabled by default.
Apple co-developed the feature with Fastly and Cloudflare. The option will work not only in iOS 16 but also in macOS Ventura.
