The Vivo brand IQOO has presented a new battery charging technology that exceeds previous charging speeds.
IQOO has a new 120W Super FlashCharge technology that can charge a 4,000 mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 15 minutes — which leads to charging speeds not previously achieved in the smartphone sector.
IQOO published a video on the Chinese social media platform Weibo under its own account that shows FlashCharge in action and compared to the company’s quick-charge function with 55 watts.
In the video, a battery with a nominal output of 4,000 mAh is fully charged within 14:53 minutes, while the 55-watt power supply brings the battery to “only” 43 percent charge at this point.
Vivo has not disclosed how they achieved the 120W charging rate, and it is not yet known in which smartphone the new charging technology will be used for the first time.
As a brand of Vivo, IQOO belongs to the BBK group, which also includes Oneplus, Oppo, and Realme. Oppo has also announced a new charging technology that will charge with 125 watts. And Oppo plans to introduce the latest charging technology on July 15th.
