Lenovo is marking its entry into the gaming smartphone segment with the launch of Legion Phone Duel.
The device comes in a striking design and with high-end hardware. The target group is mobile gamers — numerous features are geared to satisfy the needs of gamers.
Most importantly, the new Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is a beast thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus — the same one that equipped in ROG Phone 3 also — and Adreno 650 graphics that it carries inside. Together with up to 16 GB of RAM, the Legion Phone Duel should also be more than powerful enough for demanding apps.
The display is 6.65 inches in size and has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It supports a maximum frame rate of 144 Hz, which has also been unusual in the gaming smartphone sector.
You will not find a camera on the front of the device — perhaps it is the best innovation in the Legion Phone Duel — which is not integrated into the screen but equipped on an extendable module at the side of the device and only comes out when we want to use it.
According to Lenovo, the Legion Phone Duel is designed for landscape use as a gaming smartphone. In order to be able to film yourself better while playing, the front camera is installed accordingly.
On the back is a dual-camera setup with a 64-megapixel main camera and a super wide-angle camera with 16 megapixels. In order not to disturb the symmetry of the striking design of the back, the two lenses are installed in the center.
The Y logo on the back can be illuminated thanks to RGB LEDs. To cool all of its hardware, Lenovo has installed dual liquid cooling with copper tubes.
The battery consists of two parts of 2500 mAh, so it has a total charge of 5000 mAh. It can be quickly charged with up to 90 watts, but then two USB cables must be connected to the smartphone. The Legion Phone Duel should then be able to be charged from zero to 50 percent battery level in just 10 minutes and to recharge 100 percent in only 30 minutes.
Thanks to an integrated modem, the smartphone supports 5G. The Legion Phone Duel is delivered with Android 10 and its own user interface. An app called Lenovo Legion Realm serves as the gaming hub, in which users can make hardware settings and start games.
