The much-awaited Chromium powered Microsoft Edge web browser is now available for download for Windows and macOS. And Google Chrome, it’s time to face some competition.
When coming to choose a web browser for your desktop, almost 80% of users go with Google Chrome — it doesn’t matter its RAM hogging feature. Maybe its faster browsing experience or clean look or “Google” brand made us choose Google Chrome over other web browsers.
But now, it’s all going to change — Microsoft, another well-known brand and makers of the top operating system has come up with a new redesigned Edge browser for its users. This new Microsoft Edge is based on Chromium and comes with all necessary features like Chrome.
Microsoft has been working on the Chromium-based Edge browser for a year and finally, today company launched a stable version for Windows and macOS. Initially, Microsoft is targeting the Chromium-based Edge browser at enterprise users of Windows and macOS, but don’t worry, other users can also be able to manually download and install it, too. At this time, you can choose to manually download this on any computing device running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 as well as the Apple macOS powered MacBook, iMac, Mac Pro, iMac Pro, and Mac Mini. Also, if you don’t download the free Edge update now, Microsoft will soon push this via Windows Update anyway.
