Twitter’s Iconic Bird Logo to be Replaced with ‘X’

Twitter’s iconic blue bird is set to fly away from the social media platform’s logo. Elon Musk, the current owner of Twitter, announced plans to change the logo, hinting at a potential replacement with the letter ‘X’. This move reflects Musk’s ambition to transform Twitter into a ‘super-app‘, like China’s WeChat.

Since taking over Twitter, Musk has not hesitated to make drastic changes, including mass layoffs and the introduction of reading restrictions for tweets.

The billionaire entrepreneur has been vocal about his plans, stating, “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow.” This statement has left Twitter users and the tech world in anticipation, wondering what the new face of Twitter will look like.

Musk’s vision for Twitter goes beyond its original concept as a platform for exchanging short messages. He believes that Twitter can serve as a platform for publishing videos, photos, and large-format texts, which may be why he thinks the bird logo should have been removed a long time ago.

The logo change is not the only transformation Twitter has undergone under Musk’s leadership. After finalizing the $44 billion acquisition deal in October 2022, Musk has made several significant changes, including the dismissal of several board members and the introduction of Twitter Blue, a subscription service that offers a range of premium features.

While the final design of the rebranding is yet to be agreed upon, the potential shift from the bird to the ‘X’ symbolizes, in Musk’s view, the imperfections that make humans unique. As the world waits for the unveiling of the new logo, one thing is clear — under Musk’s leadership, Twitter is set for a revolution.
