Ubisoft has officially unveiled Rainbow Six Mobile, a free-to-play online first-person shooter for iOS and Android devices.
The project is being created by a new team from Ubisoft Montreal and promises to deliver an authentic Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege experience that combines tactical gameplay with fast-paced action. The announcement was published on the official website of the project.
The gameplay of Rainbow Six Mobile will be as similar as possible to the original. Users will fight in a five-on-five format on one map. The game will add operatives from the PC version with unique abilities. The game will also have a function to customize the interface and controls for the touch screen of smartphones and tablets.
The project has been in development for three years with the support of numerous Ubisoft studios, including Winnipeg, Halifax, Paris, Quebec, Bucharest, Kyiv, Pune, RedLynx, Chengdu and Shanghai. The release date has not yet been announced, but the developers have already opened registration for beta testing.
