So what’s big in this new update?
The notable feature that WhatsApp has added in its new version is the support to send documents of any type to your dear ones. Yes, now you can send any kind of files — Android APK, MP3s, Zip and whatever else you’ve got on your phone.
How to send any kind files in WhatsApp?
- Open the chat box of your friend to whom you want to send the file.
- Now tap “Attachment” button.
- Next tap “Document“.
- Now tap “Browse other docs…” to open your file manager.
- Now, select the file you want and tap the Send button. If you like to send more than one file then long press one file and select the others.
The new feature comes with a limitation — you can only send files with at most 64 MB in size.
With this feature now users can even send videos and images without losing its clarity. Because with default media share option, WhatsApp automatically compresses media files. The feature also works for WhatsApp Web, making it easier to share software setup files without the pain of uploading it on some cloud storage.
Additionally, users can now also share photos and videos straight from WhatsApp’s inbuilt camera tool, you just have to swipe up to see all your photos and videos. The new update also enables text formatting in the chat. When typing text in a chat window, users can now tap and hold to select the text to easily bold, strikethrough, or italicize.
The new WhatsApp for Android update also brings minor change to the WhatsApp call screen where users will now have to swipe up instead of sideways to pick up a call.
