Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G — new SoC for midrange gaming smartphones

Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 732G — a new mid-range SoC, aimed for gaming fanatics and improved performance in different areas over the predecessor (Snapdragon 730G).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G has an updated CPU and GPU compared to the last generation, and a faster AI engine. Compared to its predecessor, Snapdragon 732G offers the following improvements, as reported at the manufacturer’s launch:

  • Prime CPU Kryo 470 core clock speed up to 2.3GHz
  • Enhanced Adreno 618 GPU

Snapdragon 732G will offer a powerful gaming experience, sophisticated artificial intelligence, and superior performance“, were the words of Kedar Kondap, Qualcomm Technologies executive, who indicated the presence of the processor on the new Poco smartphone, the first to make use of the Snapdragon 732G platform.

In addition to performance improvements, the new Snapdragon 732G allows you to take advantage of the Snapdragon Elite Gaming platform to enable gamers to experience optimized gameplay on compatible software.

The SoC then implements the fourth generation Qualcomm AI Engine, which allows twice the performance on paper with calculations related to Artificial Intelligence compared to previous generations.

Snapdragon 732G is also equipped with the Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, which offers full support for 4G LTE, at very high speeds, but not for next-generation 5G networks. You can find all the details on Qualcomm’s new Mobile Platform on the company’s official website.
