Sony Unveils Xperia 1 V: Latest Flagship Model of Its Xperia Series with a Stunning Camera

Sony has announced the latest flagship model of its Xperia series, the Xperia 1 V, which boasts a stunning camera, a microSD card slot, a headphone jack, a big battery, and a beautiful screen.

One of the most notable features of the Xperia 1 V is its camera, which uses a 52-megapixel F1.9 lens and a newly developed 1.35-inch two-layer transistor pixel stacked CMOS image sensor called “Exmor T for mobile”. This sensor is 1.7 times larger than the previous Xperia 1 IV and captures images with a 4.3:3 aspect ratio.

Exmor T for mobile’s pixel structure is separated into two layers, with the first layer expanding the capacity of the photodiode to maximize the amount of light captured and the second layer expanding the transistor to maximize noise immunity. This separation enhances the performance of each layer and provides improved light sensitivity, resulting in low-light performance that is said to be twice that of the Xperia 1 IV.

The Xperia 1 V has a 12-megapixel variable telephoto camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It also has features typically found in Sony’s α series cameras, including the S-Cinetone option, night shooting, focus peaking, and creative look. If you have an α camera, you can use your smartphone as an external display to create a complete photo ecosystem.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, has 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card slot. It has a 6.5-inch 4K, 120Hz OLED display on the front, although it does not have functions such as constant display as it is not an LTPO panel. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, supporting 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It is also equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and rear, has an IP68 rating, dual stereo speakers, a shutter button, and sub-6GHz 5G.

The Xperia 1 V comes in black, khaki green, and platinum silver, and its price is open. The expected store price is around $1,399.

The Xperia 1 V is an excellent choice for photography enthusiasts who want a powerful smartphone that can easily capture high-quality images and videos. With its impressive camera and other features, it’s no wonder that this latest flagship model from Sony is creating a buzz in the smartphone market.
