Apple announced iOS 14 — Here are the new features coming to compatible iPhones

At WWDC 2020 — the annual conference that Apple organizes for developers, the company announced the new iOS 14.

The new version of the iPhone operating system has not changed excessively at the design level, but at the functional level, Apple added some great new features — some may be similar to Android.

iOS 14 Features:

Apple Translate

Apple included a new native translation app called Translate in the latest iOS 14. The app is fully integrated into Siri and will allow users to translate text and audio. The side-by-side view feature in the Translate app allows two persons to have a conversation in two different languages. Currently, app works with up to 11 languages, is available in offline mode.

App Library

The new App Library automatically organizes all of your apps into one simple, easy‑to‑navigate view. In iOS 14, apps are sorted by category, and your most-used apps are always just one tap away.

Smart Stack

Smart Stack is a new way of widgets organization in iOS 14. Now you can create a stack of widget or folder of widgets with three widgets based on the apps you use most, and the right widget will show up automatically at the right time in your day.

Redesigned call notification

Calls from your iPhone, FaceTime, and third‑party apps display in an all‑new compact design that doesn’t take up the full screen.

Picture in Picture mode

With Picture in Picture mode now, you can keep watching videos or continue your FaceTime call while you use another app.

Use Siri without fullscreen

Siri will now function as a bubble at the bottom of the screen, and the result appears at the top of the screen like a notification. It will give us context menus and help us while doing other things. Like, Siri will now be able to help us while we are browsing a page or an app without capturing the whole screen. Along with that, now you can easily send audio messages with Siri.

App Clips

Apple Clips is the solution for those who do not want to download an app that they will use once. App Clips will allow us to use small fractions of the apps, that is, specific functions for certain situations.

Pin Messages

Now you can Pin your favorite conversations to the top of your conversation list so you can always get to them. You can have up to nine pinned conversations that sync across Messages in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Car keys and CarPlay

With the new feature in iOS 14, unlock and start compatible cars with iPhone. The Carkey feature will allow us to use the NFC chip of our iPhone or Apple Watch to open a compatible car by bringing it closer to the door handle.

Enhanced Privacy Control

With iOS 14, Apple is offering more control over the data you share and more transparency into how it’s used.
