Xiaomi has announced new wireless fast charging technology that allows you to fully charge a 4000 mAh powered smartphone in 19 minutes and have it half-charged in less than 10 minutes.
With this, users can charge their smartphones without cables with up to 80 watts. In doing so, the manufacturer has increased its highest output for wireless charging by 30 watts.
According to the manufacturer, the 80W Mi Wireless Charging technology is able to recharge a 4,000 mAh battery to 10% in 1 minute, to 50% in 8 minutes, and to 100% in just 19 minutes.
For comparison, Xiaomi’s previous 30W wireless charging technology is capable of recharging a similar battery to 50% in about 25 minutes and to 100% in 69 minutes. Xiaomi is, therefore, confirmed as one of the leaders in this particular area.
Xiaomi has not yet announced any smartphone compatible with the new 80W wireless charging mode, but it is clear that now the technology has been unveiled, it shouldn’t be long. It is likely that we will find it in the next flagships. Past month, Huawei’s R&D lab has presented a new patent that, in the future, promises to charge our mobile wirelessly using laser beams.
