YouTube Will Stop Showing The “Dislike” Counter

After testing started earlier this year on a small number of users, YouTube has finally decided to hide the “Dislike” counter for all videos.

According to official information, the button can still be used, but the count will be visible only to the content creator when he explicitly searches for it in the analysis tools.

According to YouTube, viewers or subscribers was often misused the dislike button to personally attack people in the video or the attitudes and opinions expressed there. YouTube want to “create an inclusive and respectful environment where creators have the opportunity to succeed and feel safe to express themselves.”

The platform has been working to moderate inappropriate behavior for a long time. However, even with the limited damage, the “dislike” button can do, YouTube has work to do to continue protecting its community.
