Twitter Blue Subscription Is Said To Be More Expensive On The iPhone

Twitter plans to charge $11 per month for a Twitter Blue subscription when paying from an iPhone and $7 from the site.

Prior to the suspension of Twitter Blue, a verified account on the social network cost $7.99, but the price will change before the relaunch. Some employees were told about the revised costs, according to The Information.

With higher pricing for iPhone users, Twitter could provide Apple with a 30% commission on in-app sales without materially reducing Twitter’s profits. The price difference is likely to entice most customers to subscribe online.

After Musk’s meeting with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, it seemed that the war started by the Twitter mogul had been resolved; he rectified and denied that Apple wanted to kick the social network out of its app stores. However, that has not prevented special measures from being applied to the version of Twitter for iOS.

It’s worth noting that Twitter isn’t the only company to implement this strategy. In the past, other companies, such as Spotify, have also charged higher prices for subscriptions made through the iPhone app than online.

Twitter wants to relaunch the Twitter Blue subscription service soon, but with features that are supposed to prevent abuse. The system’s relaunch is said to include different colored badges identifying companies, government accounts and individuals.
