Cyberpunk 2077: Patch 1.2 Brings Ray Tracing To RDNA2 And Adjustments To gameplay, Quests, And Open World

The development studio CD Projekt Red has published the patch notes for update 1.2 of Cyberpunk 2077. As the official release notes of the update reveal, the development studio is planning adjustments to gameplay, quests, and open world.

The new version is to appear for all platforms on which Cyberpunk 2077 is available — for Windows PC as well as for Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, as well as for Google Stadia. The developers do not give mention an exact release date.

After patch 1.2 had to be postponed because hackers stole the source code and blackmailed CD Projekt, the game developers made extensive improvements and bug fixes in the areas of gameplay, quests, open world, cinematic design, environment. At the end of the list, there are sections with special optimizations for the PC version and for the consoles.

For the first time with Patch 1.2, Cyberpunk 2077 also supports real-time ray tracing on RDNA2 graphics cards with Navi 21 and Navi 22, such as the Radeon RX 6900 XT, the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800, and the Radeon RX 6700 XT from AMD.

According to the official Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap, patch 1.2 will be followed by the first free DLC before the next-gen patch for next-gen game consoles is due at the end of the year. Contrary to what is often assumed, the PC version does not receive a next-gen patch, as it already fully supports ray tracing and all effects intended for the game.

With the current version 1.1, the game works better than before, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Because of the problems, Sony removed the game from its Playstation Store.
