Google Chrome Will Pause Flash Ads By Default From September 1

pause flash ads by default on google chrome

Google ditching Flash.Google announced through their Google+ post that they are going to apply a pause by default on Flash Ads in Chrome browser from September 1 onwards.Google said that by this feature users will enjoy a more improved browsing experience.

Website with video and interactive media bring consumers rich, engaging experiences on the web,but they can also impact browser speed and battery life.So pausing certain plug-in content, including many Flash ads automatically by default will increase page-load speed and reduce power consumption. This feature was already rolled out to Chrome beta in June, and as soon as September setting will be turned on by default so Chrome users can enjoy faster performance and view more content before charging their batteries.

Actually Google is not blocking any Flash content,it will only allow it to play “central content” like videos while pausing peripheral content such as Flash animations.Google said that the feature will mean “pausing many Flash ads”,Chrome users will be able to choose to run the Flash ads if they want, but they’ll need to manually enable that in Chrome’s content settings. As for advertisers who are using Google’s AdWords,Google are helping them with automatic conversion of their Flash Ads to HTML 5.The vast majority of Flash campaigns will be eligible for automatic conversion to HTML5 by September 1st. Test whether AdWords can convert your ads using this tool → Swiffy

Since Flash is well known for their vulnerabilities.Last month, Mozilla disabled Flash on the Firefox browser after a flaw was exploited to attack a group called Hacking Team. Mozilla re-enabled Flash after Adobe released a fix.And also Amazon plans to kill Flash too, Amazon last week said it would stop running Flash ads on its site come September.Alex Stamos, Facebook’s new chief security officer, last month called for Adobe to set a kill date for Flash. And YouTube in January announced it would “default” to HTML5. The Chrome move is key because by most counts, it is now the most dominant Web browser.

SOMA Messenger-A Real Competitor For WhatsApp Messenger

soma messenger
Instant messaging service are one of the most common service we use through our smartphones. We know that their are different vendors who offer different kind of services in IM world. But I think WhatsApp Messenger conquered majority part of IM world. Many apps came and gone, but WhatsApp became people’s favourite.

Recently a new competitor came to the field from Silicon Valley.Developer Instanza has launched SOMA Messenger on the Google Play Store, a new, powerful, and lightning fast instant messenger. The developer claims it’s faster than any other messaging service available and is being downloaded rapidly in Saudi Arabia.Since SOMA’s debut it has got about 2 million users from Middle East — 1.2 million from the United Kingdom.
The idea of SOMA messenger was developed by entrepreneur Lei Guo while he was attending Harvard Business School in 2011. At the time, he had already launched his first company, Coco Voice, which was one of the first startups incubated at the prestigious Ivy League School, at its Innovations Lab just outside of Boston. Coco has about 17 million users from Middle East, combining iOS and Android. About 2 million users are from Saudi Arabia.

Guo said, : Over the last four years working with Coco, I’ve heard a lot from our users and have come to understand what they want from communication tools. Our goal with SOMA Messenger is to build a better messenger for the global community. With the messenger app market continuing to grow around the world, we’re still in the very early stages of experiencing what messenger apps have to offer. The services that succeed are going to win on quality, speed and security. SOMA Messenger delivers on all of that and so much more to come

Soma Messenger is quiet similar to WhatsApp in its appearance and service. What make Soma unique is that its speed in delivering your messages, advance security measures to kept your messages from prying eyes,HD Video Calling and most importantly SOMA is all free, whereas WhatsApp cost $1.99 a year.Funny part is Soma Messenger logo look somewhat similar to WhatsApp Messenger. At first we will doubt, did developer duplicated WhatsApp.

Now lets discuss the features in deatils. The most important thing Soma focusing is security and privacy. We all people need some sort of security or privacy in our communication, and SOMA app delivers the maximum security to your talks with others. The app gives 2048-bit RSA and 256 bit AES encoded data to make your chatting more private. This feature, makes this app most secured one among other similar apps in the market. Actually these encryption are mostly used by central agencies(governments).
As other similar apps, SOMA also enables you to make free voice calls, start a group chat etc. In addition to this ,the app gives you the power to talk with your friends abroad without any kind of international charges. While other apps demand you to pay price for it’s use after a regular interval of time,SOMA is completely free on it’s use and is ad-free. Additionally it doesn’t take your money for abroad calls or messages.
SOMA enables you to enjoy eye to eye interaction in a fabulous HD quality that other similar apps fails to provide. If you have got a very good connection, buffering is destroyed permanently. This is because each interaction on SOMA Messenger is handled by a server in the nearest country to the user, unlike other services, and can deliver the fastest messenger service available today.
The available apps in the market can only enable you to have a group chat to a limited number of people ,about around 100. But SOMA can increment it by 500 percent ,ie, you can enjoy the group chat of members up to 500.

All this features make Soma special and #1 most downloaded app on both iOS and Android in almost every country in the Middle East. Clearly this app is a “hot new must have download.”

A New Vulnerability – Certifi-gate,Could Allow Hackers To Take Complete Control Of Android Devices

android hack
According to smartphone astrology, this month is really bad for your Android devices. After “Stagefright“, a new vulnerability has been detected in android OS.Check Point-the security experts, recently disclosed its findings at a briefing session at Black Hat USA 2015 in Las Vegas.

The new threat, dubbed “Certifi-gate”, is a set of vulnerabilities in the authorization methods between mobile Remote Support Tool (mRST) apps and system-level plugs on a device.mRSTs allow remote personnel to offer customers personalized technical support for their devices by replicating a device’s screen and by simulating screen clicks at a remote console. If exploited, Certifi-gate allows malicious applications to gain unrestricted access to a device silently, elevating their privileges to allow access to the user data and perform a variety of actions usually only available to the device owner.

Check Point researchers examined the verification methods by which trusted components of the mRSTs validate remote support applications, and discovered numerous faulty exploitable implementations of this logic. This allows mobile platform attackers to masquerade as the original remote supporter with system privileges on the device.

The company claims that it affects devices made by major manufacturers including LG, Samsung, HTC, and ZTE. Worse still, it’s not just that hundreds of millions of smartphones and tablets are liable to attack. The researchers have reported their findings to the respective vulnerable OEMs and Google but have warned that no patch can fix this bug as existing Android systems cannot revoke the security certificates and permissions of the suspected apps and only a new software build will resolve the issue. Unfortunately it is often a “notoriously slow process” as it has always been the case with Android devices.

How To Rollback Your Windows 10 Installation To The Previous Windows Version

rollback windows 10 to previous version
Did you update your old windows version version to Windows 10.Then how is it working for you.Are you satisfied with new windows. If not, then you have time to rollback your windows installation to its previous version.Microsoft will allow you to rollback your Windows 10 installation to the previous operating system,Windows 7 or Windows 8,for 30 days post-upgrade. Don’t worry even if you want to come back later, you can still take advantage of the free Windows 10 upgrade for the next year.

In this tutorial we will show you how to rollback your Windows 10 installation to the previous version of Windows. The important file required for this process is “C:Windows.old“.Downgrade is only possible if you have this file.If you typically delete that after upgrading, or you’ve done a post-upgrade clean install of Windows 10, you’re out of luck.

Before starting the process, its good if you make sure that all your data is backed up on an external hard drive and you have your Windows 7 or 8 product keys.So now let,s start.

  • Open the Start menu, select the Settings app, and go to Update & Security > Recovery.
  • If you’re eligible to downgrade you should see an option that says Go back to Windows 8.1 or Go back to Windows 7.
  • If you see it, click Get started and follow along with the wizard.

Once you’ve returned to your previous version of Windows, you need to tinker with it to perfect your setup once again. Older programs may need to be reinstalled, and if you had a different password on the older system than you did with Windows 10, you’ll have to sign-in with that one.

After 30 days when the rollback option is gone, and you still need to downgrade to your past operating system and Windows 10’s ,you’ll either need recovery discs generated from your original Windows 7 or 8 machine to do a clean install of your old system, or have a system image backup stashed somewhere. If that doesn’t work, your last option is to install Windows 7 or 8.1 in a virtual machine on your Windows 10 system.

Google With MIT Developed A New Algorithm To Remove The Window Reflection From Your Photos

Researchers at MIT have developed an algorithm that can automatically separate window reflections from a digital image (left) and remove them (top right). Credit: MIT

We have all tried to take a picture through a window of a gorgeous view, only to have our own mug reflected back in the photo.Photographers are often stymied by their own reflection or that of their camera when shooting through glass, but researchers at MIT and Google Research have developed new software that has the ability to remove reflections, dust, and raindrops that make their way into your pictures.

The algorithm, building on work done by Daniel Zoran and Yair Weiss of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, divides images into 8-by-8 blocks of pixels and determines each pixel’s correlation with another. Their technique is able to identify which minuscule sections of the photo are part of the reflection and which are the actual image seen behind the glass.

The researchers in a video explaining the technology behind the software said that:
“ Photographers are often forced to take images through obstructing elements ,” said the researchers in a video explaining the technology behind the software. “ For instance when taking images through a glass window, reflections from indoor objects often obstruct the scene we wish to capture. Our algorithm automatically decomposes the sequence of images into a background and reflection component to produce a new clean image where the reflection has been removed.
Similarly when photographing a scene thought a fence we would like to remove the occluding fence from our image.Again our algorithm is able to decompose the sequence into the background and foreground to produce the desired de-fenced image.”Sadly we’ll be waiting quite a while however, as currently photos are being processed by a beefy eight-core Intel Xeon CPU and 64GB of RAM.”

A non-optimised implementation takes around 20 minutes, while a low-resolution photo being analysed by a Windows Phone prototype app takes two minutes.
The researchers will be presenting their paper at the Siggraph computer graphics and interaction conference in Los Angeles later this month.
