Google Introduced Its New Logo,G for Google

After Google moved under its new parent company Alphabet,Google introduced a new logo today.The company has announced its new logo in a video which shows off its successes over the past 17 years. Showcased in the video is the addition of Gmail, enhancements to search, Android, Google Now and much more.The new Google logo is still a wordmark, but it’s now using a sans-serif typeface, making it look a lot more modern and playful. The colors are also a bit softer than they used to be. The logo bears a bit more resemblance to the logo of Google’s new parent company, Alphabet, as well. Alphabet’s wordmark has a similarly unadorned look, and this update makes the two companies’ design language fall a bit more inline.

As per the video the new logo notes, the wordmark has been evolving ever since it was created in 1998. But this is easily its biggest change since 1999, when Google first cleaned up the lettering and settled on its four colors. Since then, the logo has just been flattened out more and more, with today’s update representing a huge leap. In addition to changing up the wordmark, Google is also changing the tiny “g” logo that you see on browser tabs. It’s now going to be an uppercase “G” that’s striped in all four of Google’s colors. Google says that the new design will be rolling out across all of its products soon — in fact, it’s already on Google’s homepage, with a cute animation that wipes away the old logo and draws in the new one.

In a blog post Google describes the changes as :
Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).
It doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue “g” icon and replacing it with a four-color “G” that matches the logo.

In conclusion Google said that this is not the first time and probably won’t be the last the company changing its logo.But in this time change in logo will reflect across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many other services offered by Google.And finally added that-“We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future.”

Indian Authorities Probes Google For Abusing Search Dominance In Search Advertising

The Competition Commission of India[CCI] has been probing Google India for abusing its dominance in the search advertising for three years now. As part of its probe, 30 companies including Flipkart, Facebook, MapMyIndia, MakeMyTrip, and Nokia had submitted their responses to the CCI by claiming that Google has been unfairly highlighting its own services in search advertising results.

While CCI would take a final decision after hearing Google and other parties in the case, including the complainants, the probe report of the watchdog’s investigative arm, Director General, is believed to have found Google in violation of certain competition regulations. While there was no official word on the content of the probe report, Google said it is reviewing the report from the CCI’s ongoing investigation.
When contacted, a Google spokesperson said it was closely working with the CCI on the matter.
We’re currently reviewing this report from the CCI’s ongoing investigation. We continue to work closely with the CCI and remain confident that we comply fully with India’s competition laws.Regulators and courts around the world, including in the U.S., Germany, Taiwan, Egypt and Brazil, have looked into and found no concerns on many of the issues raised in this report. the spokesperson said.

Google is already facing allegations in Europe that it influences its shopping results to put rivals at a disadvantage.European regulators are currently examining whether the internet company manipulated search results to steer traffic away from rival sites that could diminish its advertising sales.Google has denied the allegations. If it loses the case in Europe, the firm could be faced with a multi-billion dollar fine.Regulators in the US wrapped up a probe into Google’s practices in 2013, concluding the company did not have to make any major changes to how it ranks websites.

Early last year, the Competition Commission of India had imposed a Rs 1 lakh fine on Google. Back then, Google said it was disappointed with the decision. For now, Google has denied any wrongdoing on its part in influencing, rigging or modifying search results, claiming it has been under stringent scrutiny the world over and has been cleared by national courts in several countries.

Instagram,the famous photo-sharing social media service rolled out a major update,that will make its users more happy.Instagram has added new layout options in addition to its signature square for pictures and videos in a bid to attract more advertisers and to stop users defecting to more flexible services such as Snapchat.Now Instagram adds portrait and landscape options to its upload service

Facebook Inc bought Instagram for $1 billion in 2012,and this is the first major alteration done to it.The picture sharing app previously only employed a distinctive square framing method, meaning users often had to closely crop their images before uploading.And after many users demand for more framing variety, Instagram added this new feature and is also intended to encourage users to shoot more video content.

Nearly one in five photos or videos posted currently aren’t in the square format, leaving wide borders of white space, Instagram said.From Thursday onwards, Instagram’s web-based service and its mobile apps running on Google Inc’s Android system and Apple Inc’s iOS will allow portrait and landscape formats, giving both users and paying advertisers more options.Tapping the new format icon in the lower left-hand corner when uploading a picture allows users to choose between square, portrait and landscape orientations.

While the photo automatically uploads as square, tapping the format icon provides a choice to keep the photo in its original orientation instead of cropping it to a square

Since Instagram believes that with this new feature they will get some hike in its advertising revenue.Instagram is expected to generate nearly $600 million in advertising revenue by the end of this year and $2.8 billion in 2017, according to projections from research firm eMarketer.This move also should help Instagram in its battle with newer rivals such as Snapchat for users in the fast-moving messaging and media-sharing market.Anyway users are really thrilled after getting this feature.

Microsoft has added several new Windows key shortcuts in Windows 10,so now Microsoft offers an offline version [Word .DOCX format] of its Windows key shortcuts, not shortcuts involving Ctrl or Alt for download.The cheat sheet contains 42 shortcuts in total, mostly dealing with window management, the Start menu, the Task view, and Cortana.

Google Chrome Will Pause Flash Ads By Default From September 1

Google ditching Flash.Google announced through their Google+ post that they are going to apply a pause by default on Flash Ads in Chrome browser from September 1 onwards.Google said that by this feature users will enjoy a more improved browsing experience.

Website with video and interactive media bring consumers rich, engaging experiences on the web,but they can also impact browser speed and battery life.So pausing certain plug-in content, including many Flash ads automatically by default will increase page-load speed and reduce power consumption.This feature was already rolled out to Chrome beta in June,and as soon as September setting will be turned on by default so Chrome users can enjoy faster performance and view more content before charging their batteries.

Actually Google is not blocking any Flash content,it will only allow it to play “central content” like videos while pausing peripheral content such as Flash animations.Google said that the feature will mean “pausing many Flash ads”,Chrome users will be able to choose to run the Flash ads if they want, but they’ll need to manually enable that in Chrome’s content settings.As for advertisers who are using Google’s AdWords,Google are helping them with automatic conversion of their Flash Ads to HTML 5.The vast majority of Flash campaigns will be eligible for automatic conversion to HTML5 by September 1st. Since Flash is well known for their vulnerabilities.Last month, Mozilla disabled Flash on the Firefox browser after a flaw was exploited to attack a group called Hacking Team. Mozilla re-enabled Flash after Adobe released a fix.And also Amazon plans to kill Flash too, Amazon last week said it would stop running Flash ads on its site come September.Alex Stamos, Facebook’s new chief security officer, last month called for Adobe to set a kill date for Flash. And YouTube in January announced it would “default” to HTML5. The Chrome move is key because by most counts, it is now the most dominant Web browser.

A New Vulnerability – Certifi-gate,Could Allow Hackers To Take Complete Control Of Android Devices

According to smartphone astrology,this month is really bad for your Android devices.After “Stagefright“, a new vulnerability has been detected in android OS.Check Point-the security experts,recently disclosed its findings at a briefing session at Black Hat USA 2015 in Las Vegas.

The new threat, dubbed “Certifi-gate”, is a set of vulnerabilities in the authorization methods between mobile Remote Support Tool (mRST) apps and system-level plugs on a device.mRSTs allow remote personnel to offer customers personalized technical support for their devices by replicating a device’s screen and by simulating screen clicks at a remote console. If exploited, Certifi-gate allows malicious applications to gain unrestricted access to a device silently, elevating their privileges to allow access to the user data and perform a variety of actions usually only available to the device owner.

Check Point researchers examined the verification methods by which trusted components of the mRSTs validate remote support applications, and discovered numerous faulty exploitable implementations of this logic. This allows mobile platform attackers to masquerade as the original remote supporter with system privileges on the device.

The company claims that it affects devices made by major manufacturers including LG, Samsung, HTC, and ZTE. Worse still, it’s not just that hundreds of millions of smartphones and tablets are liable to attack.The researchers have reported their findings to the respective vulnerable OEMs and Google but have warned that no patch can fix this bug as existing Android systems cannot revoke the security certificates and permissions of the suspected apps and only a new software build will resolve the issue. Unfortunately it is often a “notoriously slow process” as it has always been the case with Android devices.

Before starting the process,its good if you make sure that all your data is backed up on an external hard drive and you have your Windows 7 or 8 product keys.So now let,s start.

Open the Start menu, select the Settings app, and go to Update & Security > Recovery.
If you’re eligible to downgrade you should see an option that says Go back to Windows 8.1 or Go back to Windows 7.

How To Rollback Your Windows 10 Installation To The Previous Windows Version

Once you’ve returned to your previous version of Windows, you need to tinker with it to perfect your setup once again. Older programs may need to be reinstalled, and if you had a different password on the older system than you did with Windows 10, you’ll have to sign-in with that one.

After 30 days when the rollback option is gone,and you still need to downgrade to your past operating system and Windows 10’s ,you’ll either need recovery discs generated from your original Windows 7 or 8 machine to do a clean install of your old system, or have a system image backup stashed somewhere.If that doesn’t work, your last option is to install Windows 7 or 8.1 in a virtual machine on your Windows 10 system.
